Spying Issues through VPN connection

    Good Day all

    I have not had much experience with VPN connections and am looking for some suggestions.
    As part of my BP process I need to connect via FortiClient VPN connection to a web Based (Chrome) application.

    At this point I have not figured out the connection phase yet, but after manuly creating the FortiClient connection, I have managed to spy most of my elements using the only functional spy method which is "Browser mode". However there are a few elements in the application like popup save dialogs and Pdf reader dialogs that were able to be spied with "UIA", but now and again I start getting errors ,'canot find the matching element' and when I do some checking the spy method "UIA" is not working at all. Any suggestions?

    PS: Suggestions on setting up a VPN connection via BP also welcome....

    Hello Gavin,

    Can you try altering the list of attributes that automatically get selected when you spy something with UI-Mode.
    Essentially you want to bring it down to the bare minimum attributes that are unique to that particular control alone. Another very useful attribute that does not get selected automatically is the 'Match Index'. Start by index 1 and test highlighting your element and then increment it to achieve desired results.
    Test these setting a few times to ensure they work.
    Another thing for the popups and Save options, you might want to use a combination of keystrokes just as you would manually. e.g. sending 'CTRL+S' cmd via BP.
    Lastly, before you start automating in Chrome browser, ensure the BP plugin is enabled.

    Thanks for your quick response. Yes great advice given. I have tried all these options and best practises. However I find sometimes I cannot spy any element at all with the spy modes. I may be lucky and only get the outer window, but nothing highlightable within the window. I was wandering if it could have something with the VPN connection via FortiClient that I had set up manually beforehand, as I am not sure yet, how to set the connection via Blue Prism. This is a new adventure for me using the VPN connection.
