    Hi Community members,

Today we are excited to announce a new functionality for posts which we will be launching this month.

Once launched, you will have the option to choose between a question (requiring an answer) or a discussion (open ended) whenever you start a new thread. They will display a different icon depending on what type of thread they are:

Questions will be a thread with a specific answer:

If your question receives the correct resolution or answer, you will be able mark that reply "Mark as Best Answer".  That answer will then appear at the top of the thread and will be marked as Best Answer.

When this is the case and a question has been resolved, it will also show an "answered" icon from the threads view:

Discussions will be open-ended threads for ongoing conversations:

Can we give Steve waters optimization thread as an example as that got a good response

Still not sure which option to choose? From the Community team we recommend selecting Question to be Answered when in doubt.

Last but not least, this will lead to some exciting improvements in the filtering options. With the Discussions versus Question functionality you can now drill down further just to see questions with or without answers with the drop down lists on the threads tab.

Keep an eye on the Community for the Discussions versus Question functionality coming this month and let us know about any doubts or questions you have in the meantime 😊
