    Hi,

One of the process we are going to implement attended automation. What are the best practises to run the BOT as attended automation.?

Which environment access need to give access to the user who are running  the bot as attended automation?? Is it best approach to give blue prism qa environment access to the user instead of prod???

    Thanks,
    Harish

    Hi Harris,

Would you be able to share some of the details of your use cases? There's a couple of options available to you such as using Interact to provide a web interface supporting the SME triggering and interacting with the process throughout its lifecycle or in the case of configuring Blue Prism natively in an attended mode. In the latter there have been some helpful posts by Josh Noble which I can direct you to.

We have physical token . User need to enter credentials to their token in order to interact with the application.  If you referring LinkedIn post describing  the different types of attended automation I already checked that one.

Do you think giving  Blue prism QA access to analyst instead of Prod for attended automation is  good approach? If not why?

    Thanks,
    Harish

Harish - Have you been able to advance this question at all?

The Dev team are working on ways to accommodate customers with physical tokens and smartcards, but it's not in the immediate plan (it'd be a good idea to review the Ideas forum and up vote the request there or create a new request if you cannot find it).

Like Danny mentioned Interact would be a great way to have a process run, prompt the user for the token and then continue to run within the data center. I do have concerns around this, since it would be the token from the user and not unique to the Digital Worker running the process.

Have you explored alternative ways to have the Digital Worker access the system without a token?  Could trusted certificates be used?  Many of our customers have been able to work with their IT and Risk groups to update policies for the digital works to maintain the security features desired by understanding that this is a Digital Worker on a fixed enterprise datacenter and not a person with a desktop or laptop.

To your question about QA versus Prod.  If the automation/Digital Worker is providing value to the person or organization, then it is a production license.  I would need more info about the process to help give advice, but using QA as a workaround just to gain access does not seem like a good approach.  It looks to avoid the Risk/Security Controls in place and therefore increases the risk instead of decreasing it.  When a work around is put in place, it is also almost always not a scalable solution either.

    Best,

    Thanks Adam for the response.

I will check idea forum.  As you mentioned we are using Interacting the web interface to  trigger the BOT and handle prompts by SME.
