BP SSH VBO - Compile Error

Hi all,

We're trying to use the BP SSH VBO in a new process, but we seem to run into a compile error that we need assistance with.

We've downloaded and saved the required Renci.Ssh.Net.dll file and it seems that net462 version is most compatible with our Blue Prism NET framework, but this is the current issue:

"Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerabe<Renci.Sshnet.Sftp.ISftpFile>' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerabe<Renci.Sshnet.Sftp.SftpFile>'. An explicit conversion exist (are you missing a cast?)"

To temporary bypass this issue, we've commented out the line of the Global Code that seems to be throwing the error above but while testing, we see another issue:

I am trying to use this VBO as well, and ended up doing exactly what you have done.

Used the 462 dll, as it seemed the most compatible
Then faced the 'Cannot implicitly convert type' issue
Then tried to comment out that line, and now facing the issue from your screenshot.

Were you able to resolve this?

Any help or suggestions will be very valuable.

Hi everyone,

Firstly, thank you for being SS&C Blue Prism customers and for using Blue Prism.
As always with these utilities that rely on 3rd party DLL's we have to make sure that the dependency DLLs match too.

So, the first thing to check is, the error message you have, do you have that dll installed in your system. I am unsure if that is part of the original Blue Prism installation or not, as it does change frequently.
My initial suggestion to you is do you have access to a dependency checker, such as Jetbrains DotPeek? If so, the version of Renci that you have, can you look at the dependency tree and see what dlls the version you have needs?
This is the first place to start with DLL issues like this.
In the interim, I am going to locate my demonstration process for the SSH.NET object and see if that runs for me. Once I have that achieved, I will perhaps create a video showing its functionality and post that to the DX.

In the interim, it would be useful to know the versions of BP you are using.

I copied the 462 version of 'Renci.SshNet.dll' into 'C:\Program Files\Blue Prism Limited\Blue Prism Automate'. The 'Microsoft.Bcl.AsyncInterfaces.dll' is also present in the same path.

Regarding the Blue Prism version - I am using v7.3

I am not sure about the access to a dependency checker, but if I share the dlls that I am using will that help?

I worked with a .Net developer in my organisation for checking dependencies of the renci.sshnet.dll and it looks like the latest version of the renci needs v8 of Mircosoft.Bcl.asyncinterfaces, but the blue prism installation came with v6 of Mircosoft.Bcl.asyncinterfaces.

But when I tried to use v8 of Mircosoft.Bcl.asyncunterfaces, I couldn't launch Blue Prism.

So I thought to use a version of renci which is dependent on v6 of Mircosoft.Bcl.asyncinterfaces. During my search for that I came across the v2024.0.0 of renci dll which is dependent on >=v1.0.0.0 of Mircosoft.Bcl.asyncinterfaces.

So I placed that v2024.0.0 into 'C:\Program Files\Blue Prism Limited\Blue Prism Automate', and it worked!

I was able to upload a file to SFTP, and delete it from SFTP as well.

Sorry for the delay. The resolution you have provided is spot on guys so well done. This is exactly how to resolve these types of dll dependency issues.

Over the weekend I have put together a short video of showing some functionality, I will aim to get this through post-production and onto the DX in the next couple of days.

I will also update the documentation to explain which version of the renci dll you should be looking for.
