You can use Email-POP3/SMTP Blue Prism VBO for getting the gmail email, instead of spying.
The POP3/SMTP should provide you the capability to interact with POP3 and SMTP email protocols

Hi Unknown User,

I'm not sure you are trying to interact with GMail from the browser or from Outlook. If you using a browser: I tried to spy the email's body using Gmail with IE and I was able to identify it uniquely with HTML spy mode, UIA and AA with no problems. I think it depends on your Gmail settings and how the email is displayed.
I copy what InJoe already suggested and strongly recommend to use an email VBO instead of trying to interface the GMail UI: GMail constantly changes their UI and you have no control on that. So even if you manage to automate their UI, most likely your automation will no longer work in a few weeks because Google decided to change the layout.
