Not able to identify any element on Chrome

Hi,

I am not able to identify any element on the chrome with any mode(Browser mode, UI automation mode, Region mode, AA mode).
Could anyone please tell me how to deal with it.

What version are you using?
Pretty sure that BP hasn't attached to chrome properly. Close all instances of Chrome and launch again using BP.

I am facing a similar issue where I can spy Chrome application (Window, address bar, ...) but I cannot spy any element within the page. I have tried suggestions here: Chrome Automation but without success. We are still using BP 6.4.0 and Chrome 75.0.3770

Yes, it is working for me now. I have just closed all the instance of Google Chrome and then tried, then I was able to spy every element within the page.

Have you double checked that the Chrome extension you are using is the one specific to version 6.4?

If so, we found that a Chrome update seemed to break our spying. The suggested workaround was to:

In the Chrome URL, enter: chrome://flags
In the search field, look for the setting: "Enable network service"
Disable that setting

If that is unsuccessful, could you verify if other websites have the same issue?

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately it is not possible to stick to one version of Chrome extension since it is downloaded directly from Chrome store during installation.
Therefore we have now

Chrome Extension 1.0.6.3

Blue Prism 6.4.0

Chrome 75.0.3770.90

I have tried now to increase BrowserAutomation.DefaultCommunicationTimeout to 10000.
Added parameter --force-renderer-accessibility to the URL for enabling UIA.
Disabled "Enable network service" in Chrome.

I have tried to spy https://www.google.com but with the same results.

Strangely I cannot spy any elements with any mode on my laptop but I am able to spy elements in UIA (but not browser mode) on one of our virtual machines. However, spying works there but Blue Prism cannot find them afterwards (highlighting fails).

I Was facing same issue with chrome, I can spy but its not highlighting afterwards.

Hello,
Unfortunately we didn't find a solution since our Chrome version was frequently upgraded, out-versioning the compatible extension that can be used with Blue Prism 6.4. Chrome upgrade frequency is a real issue in our environment. Hopefully the situation became better.
We partially upgraded to 6.9 with the respective Chrome extension and it works now to create processes but it is somehow unreliable when executing.
Other processes are still using IE, which is more stable.
We still have to evaluate Edge, though.

Hi ,

I am also facing similar issue.

Spied Elements not working once in a while . Some times all Web mode spied elements stop working and some times all UI mode spied elements stops working

I have tried below steps. But, no luck. Any suggestion (or) help highly appreciated.

1.Uninstall BluePrism 6.4.3.1224
2.Install Chrome 87
3.Install BluePrism 6.4.3.1224
4.Verified BluePrism extension available in Chrome browser.

OS : Windows 7
BluePrism : BluePrism 6.4.3.1224
Chrome Browser Version 87

Hi,

Few tips which worked for me upon this -

Refer to this article http://portal.blueprism.com/customer-support/support-center#/path/1319712802
Append --force-renderer-accessibility to command line parameter (URL --force-renderer-accessibility) in Application Modeler and to 'CommandLineParams' ([URL] & "--force-renderer-accessibility") of Launch action to force User Interface Automation (UIA) mode in Chrome. This will usually fix other spy modes as well.
Check that multiple/orphaned instances aren't running in Task Manager, close all such instances before restarting the process. If required write a utility code using code stage (there're are plenty of examples available on web) for a clean closure and start of the Chrome browser (avoid using terminate).

Hope following these steps would resolve this issue.
