For now, I have not found a combination of rights that achieve this. It seems to be that in order to import a release and overwrite the current proces/object one needs edit rights, the same rights that allow the user to change the proces/object in the studio. For history keeping purposes I have found it useful to overwrite a proces instead of creating a new version i.e. a new name.
