Just wanted to let everyone know that Decipher v2.3 is now available to download.

I'm looking forward to getting it installed and put it through the paces. From what I've seen of it during pre-release it looks really good.

Hi Wil,

There's additional help text available for each misc parameter when you hover over them in the dropdown, however for these 2 you can use the following examples.

DateFormat = dd/MM/yyyy , the standard date notation used in other apps like Blue Prism's calculation stages

DateLocale = en_US , the first characters in the locale dropdown for the respective region/country.

Speaking of which, I noticed that the "Get Active Batches on the v2.3 "Using the Decipher VBO" page has an empty note - is that meant to be there?

I notice there are major changes to decipher VBO and DLL. I could not find sample processes anywhere by using new VBO, the way it was provided in 2.2

Hi Tejaskumar,

There aren't any sample processes for this VBO as a lot of the complexity has been removed. E.g. Where the previous VBO had 6 steps to upload a new batch, the new one only has 2 steps.

You should be able to get up to speed with the new functionality by familiarising yourself with the updated online help.

The old VBO is not supported in 2.3 because the DLL is updated, so it is not back-compatible.

That is why it would have been very helpful to users if BP provided sample processes along with the tool to speed up time.

The new VBO and DLL will require everyone to build a new process as the VBO has changed. I agree it is easy, but BP must think about the ease of access for all users. Honestly, we had to delay a couple of POCs due to this, as it increased the process development time with the new version.

Hi Athiban,

Most of the old VBO actions will work if you still have the original dll file in place, but the crucial "Get Next Available Batch" action won't work. This is because there's no longer an export function pushing the Batch Id and Document Ids to Rabbit MQ.

To use 2.3 it will mean fully adopting the new VBO, which I appreciate could be a lot of unexpected effort, but was the only way we could add in some of the key new functions.

Also, to add another point of concern with the upgrade, the auto-export of CSV was working in 2.2 while it is not working in 2.3. This also led us to redesign the process where it was directly grabbing the data from CSV.

Hi Tejaskumar,

That feature was never supported, hence why there were no instructions on how to use it. There are internal reasons for that and unfortunately that's not currently a feature planned for future versions.

The only supported and recommended way to extract the document data from Decipher is via the VBO.

I noticed there's an empty note on the "Get Active Batches" section in the documentation:

Also, is it still possible to have multiple RabbitMQ Queues when uploading batches? Or do all document batches go through just one RabbitMQ Queue now?

Hi Wil.

You are no longer using RMQ to communicate with Decipher. RMQ is only used for the credentials.

Point of clarification, RMQ is only used by the licensing service to contact BP for the license and then by the Decipher Server to get the license message the service puts there.

I had "credentials" in my mind for something else and so gave you an incorrect steer.
