ERROR: Internal : Failed to perform step 1 in Read Stage - The handle is invalid

Using Read Text with OCR and running into this error after about 45 minutes of surface automation running successfully. Then every time it closes/re-launches due to system exceptions it can never find the region again and I am seeing this error every time.

Hi Nick,

This type of error ("handle is invalid") seen after a period of time can sometimes be caused by a screen lock or screen saver being in place at the time an action was attempted.

The best way to verify if this is the cause of the error is to use a console type tool to view the remote session of your Runtime Resource. You will not see a screen lock if you are using a tool such as Microsoft Remote Desktop, as it will bypass the screen lock. If you observe the Runtime Resource in a locked/inactive state when checking this, best-practice is to ensure the recommended group policies are applied to your Runtime Resources to avoid screen locks and screen savers.
