For items that are not hidden, this would allow me to see the scope (availability to other pages) by just looking at the page instead of opening up the properties of each Data Item or Collection. For items that have Environment, Session, and Static exposure, this would allow me to visually determine where the values may be assigned or stored.    As I user, I would like to have a global setting for designating the shading/color of  Data Items and Collections based on Visibility and Exposure.
