Patching in Azure and BP can be a bit of a challenge.

In Azure you can set update services. For production environments I would set this to manual because you want all patches tested before putting them in an automation environment. This goes for any BP Automation environment. Updates and Patching should be carefully considered and tested.

A customer relied heavily on their VDI environment and chose not to test updates. The RPA team had almost no visibility into the patches being applied. A patch to one of their print services broke .Net 4.7 causing BP to crash. It literally took us months to track down what happened. Fortunately it only impacted their development environments, it impacted the UI. It did hold up their upgrade to 6.x for several months.
