Phantom Recovery Stage

So I have a piece of code that is not in a block that throws an exception.

Main -> Page 1 -> Page 2 -> Page 3

Page 3 throws an exception and Page 2 catches it. But here's the kicker. The logs say "Recover4 and Resume5" but those stages simply do not exist in my code.

What is going on here? Is it in recovery mode? Why is this error not bubbling up to the Main page and terminating the process? The bug does not show up in development.

Have you tried doing a Find in the XML using something like Notepad to verify there is no stage called 'Recover4' and 'Resume5'? You can also search within Process/Object studio but I would do a search on the XML too just in case.
