Citrix Automation BP V7

To do Citrix automation it is mention in the online document that we need to install BP V7 on both external/primary machine and also inside Citrix VM as well. i.e.In the VM itself and in the machine from where Citrix VM is started.

Is this the right understanding that if we want to do Citrix automation one has to install and set up blue prism enterprise V7 in both of the machines?

That is correct. According to the online help here it sets it out with these items:-

Then why is it call separate Citrix automation? Isn't it like making the Citrix VDI as a run-time resource?
I mean technically we are installing BP on both machines right.

The installation of BP on the Citrix VDE provides the means to install and configure the necessary software to allow a runtime resource to communicate with the Citrix VDE. The runtime resource communicates via the ICA channel to the AppMan.Service.exe on the Citrix machine which is the part that interacts with a target application. So the runtime resource is executing Blue Prism processes whereas the application instructions from objects in that process are communicated to the Citrix VDE and the target application with this method.

Q: While Installing the BP in Citrix VDE is it ok if we select the 'Citrix Automation' under the 'Additional' section? Will this allow us to automate the Applications within this Citrix VDE from another resource PC?

Q2: Instead of Citrix VM can we use windows RDP to automate? Or is it like exclusive for Citrix only?

Hi Vivek, according to the install guide you do not need to select this on the Citrix VDE for the BP installation, only on the required interactive clients to build processes and the runtime resources that will be used to run them.

Hi Tejaskumar, according to the guide you only need to select the 'Citrix Automation' option when installing on the IC used locally to develop processes for Citrix VDE automations and the runtime resources used to run these processes. The Citrix VDE machine itself does not require this option to be selected.

This Citrix integration is purely for Citrix VDE and does not support Windows RDP.
