Hi,

The attributes picked up by spying depend on what info the application exposes based on how it was designed. If you are having issues spying it on java mode, you may try sending the menu a ALT+V command (using keyboard shortcuts to open the menu) then using the arrow keys to navigate to the option you want to select in that menu and sending an ENTER command to select it as an alternative to spying in java mode. I know this does not answer your question regarding why this specific application has a hard time finding the toolbar menus but that may be related to that specific app. Sometimes a combination of spying techniques gets the job done. Here is a link to our documentation on how to send commands via Surface Automation. This alternative may be worth a look in your case.

Check page 49 of this document:
https://portal.blueprism.com/system/files/2018-04/Surface%20Automation%20-%20Advanced%20Training%20.pdf

Basic Surface Automation Training Guide:
https://portal.blueprism.com/system/files/2018-04/Surface%20Automation%20-%20Basic%20Training.pdf

Hope this helps,

------------------------------
Jorge Barajas
Blue Prism
Senior Product Consultant
Austin, Texas
------------------------------
