Upgrade from 6.5 to 6.7.1 HTML Element path spying not working any more

Hi !

We have some HTML Elements relying on Path. Some of these have stopped working when upgrading from 6.5 to 6.7.1

I can spy elements at the top of the dom hierarchy in my application, but deeper in the hierarchy i get the message: There was an error during the spying operation.

System.ApplicationException: Unable to cast transparent proxy to type 'mshtml.IHTMLElement'.
at BluePrism.AMI.clsAMI.Spy(clsElementTypeInfo& elementType, List`1& identifiers)
at AutomateUI.frmIntegrationAssistant.aa(Object gan, EventArgs gao)

I have checked the release notes on versions 6.5.1, 6.6, 6.7 and 6.7.1 but cant find any changes to HTML spying mode beeing made.

Hi,

I am also interested to hear if you ever resolved this. We have recently for the same error after an upgrade from 6,6 to 7,0. Elements that were earlier spyable are no longer from the Studio. When the process runs on a resource pc however then there is no such problem identifying the element. This is making new development tricky 🙂

Just checking if you are you working on a x64 system.
Try changing to embedded default in application modeler to external 64 bit.

We did not find a solution to this problem. We made changed our elements to UIA
