Hi @Tejaskumar_Darji,

I'm no expert here, but I think what's being referenced here is the difference between a runtime resource instance that is started specifically as part of the Login Agent service vs a runtime resource instance that is simply started through say a Windows Startup entry, a batch file, etc. Why is there a difference? The Login Agent Runtime Resource instance runs under a Windows system account (aka a service account) whereas a regular Runtime Resource instance runs under the logged in user. At least that's the way I understand it. 🤷‍♂️

Cheers,

Hello All,

While referring to login agent details on the BP docs website, noticed the below description under the Logout process.

Here what is the meaning/difference of Login Agent Runtime Resource and Blue Prism Runtime Resource?

And why logout process is not recommended for Login Agent Runtime Resource and recommended for Blue Prism Runtime Resource?

------------------------------
If I was of assistance, please vote for it to be the "Best Answer".

Thanks & Regards,
Tejaskumar Darji
Sr. Consultant-Technical Lead
------------------------------
Hi, Tejaskumar,

basically, what @ewilson wrote is correct. When you have computer where the Blue Prism Listener is not started and you installed Login Agent service the resource is called Login Agent Runtime Resource. At the moment when you launch (by any means) Blue Prism Listener, the Login Agent Runtime Resource becomes Blue Prism Runtime Resource and Login Agent windows service should be stopped.

The recommendation IMHO is that the logout action expects the Blue Prism Listener to be running that's why it is not recommended to be run with Login Agent Runtime Resource. You may ask why - when you do not run Blue Prism Listener the actions which you can use within Blue Prism are very limited (only to Login Agent enabled activities) and Logout probably uses some of the actions which are not available when Login Agent Runtime Resource runs therefore it would not work.

Regards

Zdenek

------------------------------
Zdeněk Kabátek
Head of Professional Services
NEOOPS
http://www.neoops.com/
Europe/Prague
------------------------------
