Decipher IDP - Need to check the document is signed

Hi Everyone,

I need some suggestion on how to configure / train decipher to get the correct output for the document is signed or not.

I have a form where there is a signature box, where the users will be signing. I have created a DFD with field format as signature. I have pushed a doucment and created a region around the signature box.

User can sign in any part within the above showed box. when i created a region size covering the entire box from inside. Decipher says "Not signed" eventhough i can see the sign in it.

When i shrink the region size to the region where the actual signature is then decipher says "signed".

Issue: We are not sure where the sign will be within the box.

Training approach:

I have pushed documents where the sign is in different places within the box one by one. but when i adjust the region to one particular sign then tend to keep the same region for the next document but it has sign in different position.

May i check if anybody has encountered any such situation? or any suggestions in this matter will be helpful

Hi All,

Even if the signature is within the trained region, if the density % of signed space < density % of unsigned space decipher returns it as "Not signed"

Hi @Nandhakumar ,

This will be because the region fullness threshold (RFT) has not been met in the larger region size. When you hover over the field in the left of the data verification panel, you will see a percentage for the "Signature region density".

You can change the threshold by adding the misc parameter to the respective field in the DFD "RFT", then set the minimum value required to flag the field as signed. e.g. RFT = 5 will mark the field as signed if the Signature region density is 5% or higher.

I have added the MISC parameter and adjusted the min percentage to get both the field as signed now. its working :).

Just curious to know, is there any best practice to set the min value for RFT?

because in my case i have go as low as 0.5 as min value for RFT.

Hi @Nandhakumar ,

Glad to hear it's working for you. There's no advice in terms of a minimum value, but it's certainly worth testing a reduced threshold with as many sample documents as possible to check for unwanted outcomes e.g. a false positive.

This is not currently possible within Decipher, there are no image output options.
