In 7.2, Runtime resource is showing state as Idle but connection is disconnected.

Hi,

We are planning to upgrade BP to 7.2. So while testing, we tried to setup Runtime resource.

The state of resource is Idle, but connection is disconnected.

Appreciate any suggestions to resolve this issue.

But restart didn't work.

Getting below error

Hi, Sheela,

not sure if this can be the reason but recently we installed Blue Prism in the environment without DNS server and we had to add IP address of BP App Server to Runtime Resources hosts file. In Control Room the RR were Idle, disconnected and strange icon which I have never seen before. Updating hosts file fixed everything.

I am not sure if this is your case but you can give it a try.

Hi, Sheela,

you need to go to your RR to the path c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ and locate file called hosts.

In this file you need to add a line something like this (I made the ip address up so you need to enter the correct one):

192.168.10.15 <fqdn of your BP APP Server>

Then save hosts file in the same location and clear cache and give it another try.

We're on 7.1 and sometimes see the idle disco state.

We have found running

"ipconfig /renew" and then "ipconfig /flushdns" followed by a restart has fixed this for us in the past.

Is the RTR a VDI?

I'm currently having the exact same problem.
Unlike the red cross mark when the status is offline, this icon looks like a circle with a cross. This is the first time I've seen this icon.
Restarting all RRs does not change the situation.
AP server information has been added to all RRs hosts file.

@sumire I update ACR setting to resolve my issue. There might multiple reasons for the issues -> starting from BP instance configuration, RR configurations. Revisit the configurations to bring up RR.

It turns out that if I press "Cancel" to close the dialog when such a dialog is displayed, communication is blocked by the firewall.
When this happened, I changed the blocking settings and RR worked normally.
