    <title>topic MSSQL Database vs Open-Source Database in Product Forum</title>
    <link>https://community.blueprism.com/t5/Product-Forum/MSSQL-Database-vs-Open-Source-Database/m-p/53766#M8394</link>
    <description>Hi!

&amp;nbsp;

I have a question. Why is the only SQL database that is supported mentioned to be MSSQL. Is it really so that all other, e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, are not supported? If Yes, then why?

&amp;nbsp;

Best regards,

      <description>Yes we only support MSSQL as that has been overwhelmingly the customer demand. Obviously we know there are other DB options out there but&amp;nbsp;currently it has to be MSSQL. If you wish to make the case for another DB type then please do so&amp;nbsp;here: &lt;A href="https://portal.blueprism.com/products/enhancement-request" target="test_blank"&gt;https://portal.blueprism.com/products/enhancement-request&lt;/A&gt;

      <description>Quite interesting got a different response from Support. They stated that you can use other engines as well, just need to recreate the database scripts for those engines. So then i assume that it does not have to be MSSQL. Although your response a little confuses me. Maybe you can then elaborate, why does this have to be MSSQL?
&amp;nbsp;
Thank you!
