If you can only use an application through Citrix, surface automation techniques are usually recommended.

As Jukka mentioned, if you can't install Blue Prism in the same environment as the applications to be automated, then your only option is Surface Automation.

I would really recommend looking into installing Blue Prism in the same environment, as process development is much faster with less obstacles.
