RPA on Oracle Retails Xstore POS

Hi,

I am working on a Retail Project and we wanted to implement automation to the project. From your point of view is it feasible to RPA a Retail Xstore POS application.

Hello Steffy,

I have a bit of experience on Oracle Retail (Oracle RETEK), though not explicitly on the POS application. From my previous experience I presume this would be a java application running at an end store location.
For Java clients, integration is through JAB (released by Oracle) and it depends on the end application, if the application has a flat structure and can be spied, then yes it might be a good case based on benefits. If the application has a very deep hierarchical structure, JAB searches have a tendency to take longer, if you obtain cases where it takes longer to activities you would need to shift to surface automation, which would increase dev time.
I would suggest to do an application assessment and try to spy the application itself to check results and feasibility .
