Blue Prism Foundation Training - Section 5, activity 1c

Hi!

When I try to follow the steps to get Blue Prism to write “hello world” to a notebook file, I get the following error:

“Failed to perform step 1 in Write Stage ‘Write Note’ on page ‘Write’ - Unable to match any window with the query terms”

I don’t understand what I am doing wrong. I tried to do the exercise multiple times, but I keep getting this error message. Could someone help me with this?

Follow below steps and you would be fine, best of luck for your training, happy learning.

Close all the notepads that might be open, Run the process from start, let Launch action run, enable break points (Right click at the write action- Notepad: Write Action -Put Breakpoint) > Post running the launch action- the notepad will show up and will stop at write stage break point - Now Do Step as in the snip below (F11) on write Action Stage - it will take you inside the Notepad Object-

Once you are inside the Notepad Object > Open Application Modeller at Top and check your Window Attributes and try highlighting the Notepad Window - You can select Window Title Attribute and match as Wildcard as shown in the below snips (*Notepad) :

Ideally you shouldn't be encountering this error as this is a basic foundation VBO - for Testing purpose I did check this Notepad Object and I was able to write the text to this file.
