Error with Outlook "Get Items" in Control Room

Hello,

I am currently encountering an error when running my process via the Control Room.

The process involves retrieving emails from Outlook. While this works fine in Process Studio (the "Get Items" action successfully retrieves mail), it enters a Warning state when triggered through the Control Room. Specifically, the "Get Items" action keeps running indefinitely. I have to terminate the Outlook.exe task in Task Manager to stop the process.

I attempted upgrading to version 7, hoping it would resolve the issue, but the problem persists.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this.

Hi @sjimoh

I had a similar issue once with outlook, is the outlook application open on the desktop when the process is running? I had to place the application in the list of startup processes for the machine when signing in as it started having an issue retrieving items from outlook when the application wasnt open. It had worked fine previously without the application open then stopped and i had to put this work around in place and its all working fine now.

i faced this kind of issue when there was a pop up coming on Outlook and we have to select time from drop down to all outlook to work. check if this is the case for you.

Thanks for your feedback. I have implemented the recommendation to add the application (Outlook, in this case) to the startup folder. I have also attached a screenshot, but the issue persists.

To provide more context, the process retrieves emails from Outlook successfully (when opened or closed) when executed from Process Studio. However, when triggered from the Control Room, it does not fetch any emails and enters a warning state until it is terminated.

Additionally, I noticed that in Task Scheduler, when Outlook.exe is triggered by Blue Prism's Control Room, the UAC Utilization status is "NOT ALLOWED". However, when executed from Process Studio, the status appears as "Disable", and it functions correctly.

Note: This Get item action was previously working fine in the Control Room without any issues.

Thanks for your response. However, this wasn’t the issue for me. I don’t receive any pop-ups coming from Outlook.
