How to contribute to the SS&C Blue Prism Community Blog

If you’re looking to reach the automation community with insights, opinions, methodologies and stories – the Community Blog is open to your submissions.

What is the Community Blog?

The Community Blog is part of the SS&C Blue Prism Community site, which is subscribed to by 70,000 automation professionals, including Blue Prism customers, partners, students and staff.

The blog exists to inspire the SS&C Blue Prism users with education, resources, inspiration and information on how to elevate their automation practices. Historically, SS&C staff have been the primary contributors to the Community Blog. Going forward, we’re opening it up to contributions from community members – including customers and partners.

What types of blog posts will you accept?

There are a few broad categories of blog posts that we will accept on the Community Blog:

  • Thought leadership and opinion about the automation profession, practices and challenges
  • Tactical automation advice, such as recommendations for different approaches to handling large volumes of data or maintenance.
  • Strategic automation advice, such as operating models, branding your automation service or governance approaches for citizen developer programs
  • Interesting combinations of technologies, such as AI + Blue Prism or how (and why) you’ve integrated Blue Prism with other software from your org’s tech stack.

This list is not exhaustive, and we’re open to your suggestions. If you’re not sure what to write, we maintain a list of current hot topics here that we think would make for excellent blog articles.

PS. If you’re looking for a way to tell a success story about a specific automation you developed, you can do that in our Community Use Case Library (Blueprints).

Are there any rules or guidance on what to write?

  • The Community Blog exists to educate, inform and inspire SS&C Blue Prism users, so your article must have one of these objectives at its core.
  • We are a community about SS&C Blue Prism technologies, and your blog must be aligned with the use of these technologies.
  • High-quality, original thought – we can’t accept duplications of existing content, and we need your contributions to be your own work.
  • About AI – it’s ok to use AI as a tool to help you write, but content which is obviously and entirely written by an LLM won’t be accepted. Our community is made up of humans, and your blog needs to be a human-led contribution.
  • Length: You blog should be over 500 words. If it’s smaller than that, consider posting in our. forum instead
  • Cite sources and data if you use 3rd party information, give the authors/owners credit.
  • Links – we will allow for up to 2 backlinks to your website, LinkedIn, YouTube channel or other self-promotional sites.
  • No IP infringements – you must not use content belonging to other people or organizations without their permission.
  • No marketing or link-building – direct promotion of products and services won’t be accepted, though we will accept up to 2 links to your website.
  • Offensive or inaccurate content won’t be accepted.
  • Criticisms / slams of other brands, individuals and organizations won’t be accepted.
  • As always, our Community Guidelines apply.

What’s in it for me?

Contributing to a professional community like ours has lots of benefits:

  • You get to influence other Blue Prism users. If you want to see change in our profession, ways of working, momentum or adoption of technologies – writing a blog will help you to reach thousands of automation professionals across the globe.

  • If you’ve ever felt a need to “give back” to the automation community through lessons of success, learnings acquired the hard way, or even just giving the next generation of automators a head start – this is a great way to reach them.

  • Getting published on our blog means you have a place on the internet that you can direct future employers, clients and colleagues towards when talking about your achievements – giving you extra credibility in your career. You can also feature your blog on your LinkedIn profile.

  • Because our community can comment on your blog – you may hear new perspectives, receive interesting questions or even have your opinions constructively challenged in ways that widen your view on the topic.

  • Writing is an easy skill to pick up, but difficult to master. You’ll get advice from us on how to make your writing compelling, which you can utilise in your other work.
