Salutations,

In general, I find the reporting in the Decipher web application to be wonky.  By wonky, I mean that if I copy a Batch ID from the 'Admin Panel->Batches' report and paste it into, say the 'Reports->Batch History' report, I rarely, if ever, get a return.

In general, it would be really nice to have a dropdown list provided where fields/columns have a preset range of expected values.  In the 'Batches' report, for example:

  • Priority (might be a bit more difficult because the values would be dynamic)
  • State
  • Status
  • Batch Type (might be a bit more difficult because the values would be dynamic)
  • Created On and Updated On (add some logic to create dates before, after or within a range)

Again, is actually broader than just the 'Batches' report.  Also, bonus points for allowing multiple selections from a list.

Thanks so much,

Red

Hi Red,

I think the Batch History report is subject to the data retention setting, are you able to find batches within the days you've got set in the admin panel?

Thanks

Hey, Ben,

It has been a little while...

I understand what you are saying, and would fully support a data retention setting.  Our is set at '30 days', which is probably the default value, and maybe it is flushing the images.  That said, I know the database is holding transactional information all the way back to the 'beginning of time', as far as Decipher is concerned.

More to the point, on the Admin tab, in the Batches option, I can have a record that has completed all steps except for the last export back to Blue Prism.  I copy the Batch ID from that record, and then go to the Batch History report, paste the ID into the search field and it never seems to come up with a return.  I can go to the other 'history' reports (Document, Page, and Field), copy the Batch ID into the appropriate filter field and also get no results.  This has never made sense to me and would not seem to be affected by the retention policy.

When I open the 'History' reports, there is data there, but it just never seems to find specific records when I am looking for something.  And this is also where I can see entries back to our very first 'proof of concept' projects.

All of this is a bit of an aside from my suggestion/request.  I live in the Data Verification and Admin/Batches data, which is why the dropdown lists came to mind.  It would be nice to have a couple of reliable reports on 'straight through processing' versus 'manual touches', but that seems like a separate ask.

Otherwise, I hope all is going well.  Thanks,

Red

Hi Red,

It sure has been, I assume that means everything's been going well with Decipher otherwise. 😂

That does seem weird, what version are you currently running? I'll send a query into the developers and see if they can provide any further thoughts or confirm if it's an issue in need of fixing.

Thanks

Ben
