Connecting Between Runtime resource and Interactive Client(Controller)

Hi,

We are setting up Production Environment. We have installed BP6.9 enterprise version in VM1 as application server, In VM2 and VM3 as Runtime resource's and in VM3 as Interactive client(controller). We couldn't establish a connection between RR,IC with App server, getting an error like The caller was not authenticated by the service when tested bp server connection. we are trying to resolve the issue.

As per client requirement we need to run the bots by EOD in RR.
until we resolve above mentioned issue, we decided to go temporarily bypassing App server connection and connecting RR, IC with SQL DB directly.

But after connecting RR,IC with SQL DB, I am able to see the RR's as available resources in idle state in IC, but not able to start a session. Its showing an error like Resource is not connected

1. What are the steps to be taken, so that my RR should be shown as connected and able to start session.?
2. Can we schedule in IC without connecting to App server?

It will be very helpful if we get an answer. Thanks in advance.

Thanks

Hi,

From the description of the issue, it's appeared to be related to the connection between the IC and the App server, my first steps will be to find out which connection mode are you using?  are the Server and the IC on the same network location? have you tried pinging the app server from the IC to make sure that there is a network communication between the IC and the App server, also when setting up the IC did you use the IP address of the Server or the hostname?

As you are setting up your production environment I will suggest raising this with us in support so that we can look at this issue further. support@blueprism.com

Your Blue Prism service on the app server may run under System account, which does not have permissions to query AD.

You can try follow:
Stop the Blue Prism service
Start: "C:\Program Files\Blue Prism Limited\Blue Prism Automate\BPServer.exe"
- select the server configuration and press START button
Now the app server runs in the current user context but works exactly like the service does.
If you are now able to connect to the app server then you should consider changing the user credentials for the Blue Prism service.

Hi Walter,

Blue prism service working fine in application server. But not able to conduct BP server test connection successfully in RR/IC getting an error The caller was not authenticated by the service . Even tried with Start: "C:\Program Files\Blue Prism Limited\Blue Prism Automate\BPServer.exe" still getting same issue

Hi benny,
We got a support from Blue Prism Team saying that we need to create a service account in azure sql DB as we are setting up blueprism prod env using  cloud. But we are not able to create such account. We have created a user/login account in azure sql and tried to use in services >bp server> properties>logon> but username is searching from available VM location.
