  • 1.  Formatting Rupee Values into Lakh Format

    Posted 12-01-2023 13:39

I'm working with a dataset containing rupee values like 200000, 5000000, 550000, and 980000. I need to transform these values into a lakh format, so the output should be 2 lakh, 5 lakh, 5.5 lakhs, and 9.8 lakhs, respectively.

Could someone guide me on how to achieve this in Blue Prism?

    HI Sandy p,

You can utilize the "Utility - Strings" VBO and action "FOrmat Number" action .

They way I would approach this would be to use a calculation stage with something like

    ([rupee] / 100000) & " lakh"

This would convert your values of 200000, 550000, etc to "2 lakh", "5.5 lakh", etc.

If you need the "s" on the end of lakh, you can have a decision after the calculation above and if the value ([rupee] / 100000) is greater than 1 (or whatever other decision you need), you can use something like [text] & "s" to add an "s" to the end of it.
