  • 1.  JAVA Mode Spying

    Posted 09-21-2023 08:06

    Hi Community,

I'm new to Java Application Automation. I cannot spy an element that is present inside a ribbon, what all I can spy is the entire ribbon instead of the particular element (Email Button). Currently achieving the automation using keystrokes but I need community suggestions if there is any other approach. I've tried other modes like UI and Active Accessibility mode but these modes aren't working on the application. Attaching the ribbon of the application that I've identified in Java mode.

Hi @Babjee Vangipurapu - Have you tried using the application navigator -I had a similar java application and using application navigator to identify these in the root element tree worked for me, I was able to fetch a Table out of it and was able to locate other elements too.

    Hi Mukesh,

Thanks for the reply the issue why the UI and AA modes isn't identifying any element is that there are multiple panes in a single window and we can attach to the main window not the pane that is present inside that window. When I open the Application/UIA navigator the elements in Main window are getting appeared but not the sub pane elements. Attaching the screenshot of the application here Oracle Applications PROD is the main window rest all are the separate panes not a new window.

    Hi Babjee,

I already faced a similar problem in another CRM, but it was also not possible to map, for some reason internal elements were not identified even when changing attributes, etc. the recognition was in blocks, the solution at the time was to use the SDK and API of the application that offered support. I imagine that the most appropriate solution would be something that attaches the correct forms (I couldn't get to that point). Another solution that can be applied is via OCR, but depending on a change in resolution it could cause problems (I don't recommend it).
