To all community members,

Following the release of v1.2.0 of Application Modeller Conversion Tool last week, a v1.3.0 was just released today that incorporates predictive logic to further narrow the gaps between IE and modern browsers. It is done by comparing number of actions, read actions as well as conditions matches for all possible element types to convert to, and in turn set the original element type to one that would achieve the best compatibility post conversion. As a result, three types non-conversions as reported in the CSV report may be minimised, if not completely eliminated:
  • 'HTMLGetTable' is NOT processed due to lack of conversion rules
  • 'HTMLSelectItem' is NOT processed due to lack of conversion rules
  • 'SelectItem' is NOT processed due to lack of conversion rules

It is highly recommended that existing users of the tool to upgrade to this version, especially if you have had the above three issues in the past.

No further update to the tool is expected after this release. But continuous improvements to the conversion rules files will still take place as new mapping possibilities identified and new Blue Prism features released.

A lot of contents have been added to the GibHub site where the tool is currently being hosted to assist with the conversion. Some key assets associated with the tool:

  • Digital Exchange site can be found here. This links to the GitHub repository.
  • The GitHub repository can be found here. We have highlighted 4 key factors that would impact your browser conversion from IE to Chrome/Edge/Firefox. It is recommended you have a read there.
  • v1.3.0 change log hosted on GitHub can be found here.
  • Conversion limitations (not exhaustive) can be found here.

As usual, if you have suggestions on how we can further improve the tool and the conversion rules as they are defined, please kindly post in DX Community forum to make us aware of it. We will carefully consider those and implement them as needed.
