Error in Forward Email - MS Outlook Email VBO

Has anyone encountered this error?

Forward Email' ERROR: Internal : Could not execute code stage because exception thrown by code stage: Value does not fall within the expected range.

It only happens when forwarding email to this one particular recipient. But when I use a different recipient, no error is encountered. I even tried manually forwarding and there was no error at all.

Hi @dsa206

Thank you for being an SS&C Blue Prism customer, and for using Blue Prism.

Sorry you are having issues with the MS Outlook Email VBO. A tricky one, given that you know that the action works, I would suggest looking at the recipient being provided, checking it for spurious characters, even maybe non-printing ones.

If you have no success in resolving this, come back to us and we will delve a little further.

Hi Jeoff,

I doubled check the recipient; there are no spurious or non-printing characters at all.

What's weird is that it was working previously, but after June-12th, the error was there even though there were no change made at all. What's weirder is that if I use the Send email instead of the Forward Email, it works using the same parameters (email, recipient, attachment, subject and body).

Regards,

Dex

 Hi @dsa206 ,

A strange one indeed. Now, just as you say that it all stopped on June 12, is there any possibility that something was updated that day? Microsoft Update perhaps, possibly changed something? This is a real clutch as straws but I am sure this is data related, given it works with other data and that data works in another action.

Are you able to replicate the issue in another, possibly standalone system? Just out of interest, the attachment, what size is the file? Could this be a possibility? I have had a look at the code and the two actions, send and forward contain almost the same code, some parts in different places, but it is effectively the same code. One piece did stick out to me and this is where the code appends the original info. This is different, but if there was a problem here, I would expect a different error message.

So, I think a useful thing to know would be does this occur the same on another machine. If not, then we know its localised to a specific system.
