SAP interaction

GavinRudling

Good day Team, Trust you are all well.
I am about to start a new project with which I require to interact with SAP.
At the moment I do not know SAP and this will be my first SAP project.
Is there any advice, to what VBO's / Connectors are out there that I can use?
My understanding so far is that I need to extract data, validate and input data.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi @GavinRudling,

I'm not an SAP expert, but what I can tell you is that most of the RPA integrations I've seen in the past are based on what are know in the SAP world as "T-Codes". These are basically mechanisms for executing a specific set of actions via the SAP UI. There are several T-Code assets on the DX, but most have a fee associated with them. There is a sample pack that's free and may give you some better insight into what it will be like to work with SAP.

Hi, Gavin,

to add one more important thing to what @ewilson mentioned is that you need to ensure that SAP scripting is turned on (or enabled) for your SAP instance. If it is not then you will be bound to use shortcuts and region mode (surface automation).

So check this settings first and if it is enabled that SAP automation is nice. If you need more help you can send me PM.

Regards

Zdenek
