Hello community members,
My organization has recently tasked me with obtaining the Blue Prism Developer Certification (AD01).
As a complete newcomer to both RPA and Blue Prism, I'm seeking advice on whether there are any prerequisites for taking the AD01 exam. Would it be beneficial for me to consider completing the Associate Developer Exam (ASDEV01) first?
Moreover, I've taken the initiative to enroll in the Blue Prism® Developer Certification Learning Plan, which includes 23 courses on the BP University. I'd appreciate insights into whether this is the right approach for someone with my level of experience. Are there any other considerations I should keep in mind?
Thank you in advance for your valuable guidance and assistance.
Best regards,
Aayush

Hi Aayush,
The Associate Developer exam is not a prerequisite for the Developer exam. However, if you lack experience in RPA and Blue Prism, I strongly advise preparing for the Associate Developer exam first. Completion of the Associate Developer Certification Learning plan should prepare you well for the exam.

While the Developer Certification Learning plan offers more advanced knowledge and skills, the Developer exam is tailored for individuals with a minimum of 3 months of hands-on experience. Given the scenario-based questions in the exam, practical experience is important for passing the exam.

It is essential to familiarize yourself with the Certification Handbook for both exams to understand the target candidates. The exam content outline provided in the handbook also serves as a guide on how to effectively prepare for the exam.
Happy Learning!
Best luck to your exam!

Hi, I think you can directly go with AD01 as there are no pre-requisites. Follow the course mentioned here thoroughly and focus on practice as much as you can. This exam test your theoretical as well as practical knowledge, so always try to learn thoroughly all the topics and leave no doubts behind.

Hi Aayush,
Welcome onboard :). The only additional advice I would say is ensure you dedicate blocks of time to the learning. I would say ideally at a minimum 2hrs and even better if you can do it in larger blocks that way you'll gain some momentum. If you're doing 15 mins here and there it will prove challenging.
All the best and search / reach out to the community if you have any challenges.
Cheers
Andrew
