How to export Microsoft Graph API - Teams

petercousins
Level 3

Hi,

Is there a way of exporting a Web API Service without it being an release? We need to export the Microsoft Graph API - Teams API from our cloud platform to our On Premise platform but the permissions on the on-prem will not allow importing releases. Tried redownloading the asset from the Exchange but its also in release format.

Cheers,

Pete

Hi @petercousins

Thank you for being a SS&C Blue Prism customer and for using Blue Prism. Thanks for the communication Pete, I will see who I can find to help you with this.

You might be able to open the asset, in design mode, and export it as an object, perhaps? If all else fails, I can see if we can make the asset available as an object, as opposed to a release.

If you think this would help, let me know.

@petercousins

Apologies sir, I misread your message. I am not aware of a way to export a web api service as anything but a release.

Sorry for my initial reply. I will consult internally to see if there is anything that might assist you.

No worries at all.

Is there a way of making BluePrism Digital Exchange ('Microsoft Graph API - Teams' available on the exchange if link doesn't work) into something other than a release? Or is it because importing Web API services is tied down to being a release due it not actually being an process/object?

@petercousins If you're saying you only have access to import individual processes and objects in the target environment, then it sounds like you need to ask whoever manages that environment to update the permissions so that you can. Or if they are intending for specific people to not be allowed to import releases, that means you also shouldn't be allowed to import processes/objects. I'm guessing this is just a mistake in permissions, but that is something your company should manage internally by adjusting permissions on user roles.

@david Thanks for info - I've got full control of User Roles and permissions - all users are set to Import Processes/Objects and Releases.

User Role config:

My Role set for all:

However Import Release and the Release tab are are still greyed out

I'm guessing this is because of how our On Premise Blue Prism was initially installed e.g. Standalone or in a Single-Environment database causing System Environments and Releases options to be hidden.

Our On-Prem is currently on v6.10.6 so we should have the option for Releases like we do on our Cloud Platform.

Looks like we might have to manually recreate the Web API Service.

If a given user has all of the permissions, it won't matter what kind of install you have, standalone or not. I can't tell if you're saying you made any changes to the user roles. It sounds like you didn't make any changes and you're showing the permissions in those screenshots as they have been for a while. If by chance you made any changes, you'd need to sign out and sign back in for those permissions to take effect.

I've never used v6.10.6, but I have used v6.10.1. As long as there isn't some unreported bug in 6.10.6, I would expect the option to be available for you if you have all permissions in the environment.

You're 100% sure that you've logged in as a user that had all permissions and then that option is not available for that user? (Obviously it isn't needed to have all permissions but I mean that is a good way to start for troubleshooting this)

Yeah I didn't make any changes, I've logged out and back in again (with my account - full permissions) a few times today alone and no change. All the team have the same issue with our On-Premise BP, cloud platform v7.4.1 is all fine.

I tested v6.10.6 briefly, and I had the ability to import releases both with a user that has all permissions and a user that only has the release manager role. You may want to submit a ticket to Blue Prism Support so they can directly help. It could be some corruption in that database you have or some other possibility we haven't considered.

Cheers Dave - I'll try BP Support.

I've hand-balled/recreated the Web API Service from our Cloud Platform and seems like its working...just need to get to bottom of the Release issue now!

Thanks for your help!!
