HI all,
I have an Accessibility Element in which I would like it to take a data item. Specifically the "Name" attribute within that element, I would like to input a data item with a wildcard so that BluePrism can spy on an element that i specify. I am unsure whether the match type should be wildcard or dynamic. Below is an example of what I'm trying to do.
Attribute - Match - Match Type - Value
Name - Checked - Dynamic? - *[Phone Number]
Any input is appreciated, thank you!

Hi Jonmak,
Wildcard and Dynamic both work differently.
You can pass the ""Name "" attribute dynamically[The value keeps on changing], Whereas in Wildcard the value is fixed[Some part of it].
So better way would be using Dynamic rather than Wildcard.
Wildcard can be used for windows title or ulrs where the values have some similarity.

Thanks for your response Saini. Can you explain how to use dynamic?
Do I just input [Phone Number] data type into the attribute and set it to dynamic?
I can't seem to get it working even when the value is correct.

Jonmak - how did you use dynamic? This is directly applicable to what I am doing today, and could use the advice. Thanks!

All - I have figured it out as well. When you set an attribute to dynamic, such as name, when you use that spied element in the object, there Param's column becomes useable and then you can assign a data item to the dynamic field.

Dynamic and Wildcard matches are explained in section 12 of the Foundation Training course.
