Excel interaction Is very slow after BP upgrade

Hi All,

An existing process which interacts with Excel is very slow after Blue Prism upgrade.

Background: Existing process was developed in BP version 5 and it is working fine for more than a year.
Now, we tested the process by importing it to BP 6.7.1 and found out that it very slow.

Below listed steps are taking almost 20 minutes to get completed in BP 6.7.1, whereas it got completed within a minute in BP V5.

- Bot opens two excel files (MS Excel VBO: Create Instance -> Open workbook -> Show -> Remove Blank rows)
- Navigates to Each cell and gets cell value in both excel files (MS Excel VBO:  Select - > Get Cell value)
- Compares the value
- Moves to the Next cell (MS Excel VBO: Go to Next Cell)
- It repeats the steps for 10 cells.
- Closes the files. (MS Excel VBO: Close Instance)

Has anyone faced the similar issue? Kindly provide your thoughts.

Thanks in advance

Hi Fazil,

Have you tried looking at the logs after executing the process to determine what step or steps are taking the bulk of the execution time?
If you can narrow down the action that are causing the time delays after running a few steps, you can then analyze if those actions are still the best way of executing that process or perhaps it's time to do it differently.

Let me know what you find and we'll go from there. Also if you need suggestions to achieve the same objective a bit differently I can help.
Look forward to hear from your tests.

Hi Fazil,

Did anything else change in your Blue Prism configuration during the v5 to v6.7.1 upgrade? For example, did the Connection Mode change from .Net to WCF? Are the environment components (App Server, Interactive Clients and Runtime Resources) and their location still the same?
