Failed to identify the combo box's inner list

While selecting item in a combo box, i am getting exception like "Failed to identify the combo box's inner list" Combobox is spied in AA mode since html mode is not working. Write now i am using send keys to select item,however i dont want to rely on sendkeys.Please help. Please find attached stage screenshot.

It sounds like an issue with the accessibility of that element, Surface Automation is the correct way for you to go and if you build that interface using best practices it will be just as robust as any other interface (albeit slower in operation).
