Read PDF documents without UI interaction

Hi, 

I have a requirement for a use case where I need bot to be able to read PDF documents without UI interaction. Since there would be 100's of PDF's to read, using OCR is not an option. Is anyone aware of a service that reads the PDF without using GUI? please assist.
