Just wanted to let everyone know that Decipher v2.3 is now available to download.

I'm looking forward to getting it installed and put it through the paces. From what I've seen of it during pre-release it looks really good.

Enjoy

Are there any examples of how the new misc parameters DateFormat and DateLocale should be setup? Super excited to try out v2.3 as well!

Hi Wil,

There's additional help text available for each misc parameter when you hover over them in the dropdown, however for these 2 you can use the following examples.

DateFormat = dd/MM/yyyy , the standard date notation used in other apps like Blue Prism's calculation stages

DateLocale = en_US , the first characters in the locale dropdown for the respective region/country.

Thanks

Hi Ben,

Thanks for letting me know! We haven't upgraded to 2.3 just yet, so was just reading the documentation ahead of time haha.

Speaking of which, I noticed that the "Get Active Batches on the v2.3 "Using the Decipher VBO"  page has an empty note - is that meant to be there?

I notice there are major changes to decipher VBO and DLL. I could not find sample processes anywhere by using new VBO, the way it was provided in 2.2

Appreciate any help.

Hi Tejaskumar,

There aren't any sample processes for this VBO as a lot of the complexity has been removed. E.g. Where the previous VBO had 6 steps to upload a new batch, the new one only has 2 steps.

You should be able to get up to speed with the new functionality by familiarising yourself with the updated online help.

Thanks

Hello Ben,

Thanks for adding an action to get the Batch/Document exception details via Decipher VBO. This will really help to eliminate the work around which we had implemented till v2.2.

Hi Team,

Can we continue to use older VBO even after 2.3 upgrade ? or is it mandatory to use the new vbo post v2.3 upgrade?

The old VBO is not supported in 2.3 because the DLL is updated, so it is not back-compatible.

That is why it would have been very helpful to users if BP provided sample processes along with the tool to speed up time.

The new VBO and DLL will require everyone to build a new process as the VBO has changed. I agree it is easy, but BP must think about the ease of access for all users. Honestly, we had to delay a couple of POCs due to this, as it increased the process development time with the new version.
