VPN consideration

Dear Community

Is there any thing to be considered when the VPN is placed between RR and the AP Server (located in IDC) in developing and running the automation process?

For instance,
- How much is the communication to be slowed?  What should be considered in designing process/object?
- Is there any configuration setting to be considered on the DB Server, AP server and RRs respectively?
- Is there any type of service scenario that shouldn't be operated through VPN?
- Is it possible to configure heartbeat between RR and AP Server so that RRs don't fall into the pending or missing state due to network latency?

It would be also really good if there's any guide or related documents.
I appreciate for your help in advance.

Regards

Hi @HongJooChoi,

Generally, the use of a VPN shouldn't be an issue as long as the network connection doesn't suffer from significant latency.

The one thing you'd want to ensure is that the VPN is established on the RR before the Automate.EXE process is started. Otherwise it wouldn't be able to connect to the Application server.

Others may chime in with additional considerations.

Cheers,
