Upcoming changes that may impact your BPC operations

Starting in September 2026, changes to monthly database maintenance will alter how historical data is retained in production. Action Required: Review your automations now if they query tables like BPAAuditEvents or BPAWorkQueueItem. Learn what's changing and how the new data schedules will impact your environment.

During your elected monthly maintenance window, starting in September 2026, additional tables will be included in the monthly database maintenance.

Action Required

If any of your processes, objects, integrations, or reports query historical data from the tables listed in the documentation linked below (primarily BPAAuditEvents and BPAWorkQueueItem), you must review and update them to account for these retention periods.

Specific examples of impact include:

  • Processes that query BPAWorkQueueItem for items processed more than 90 days ago will no longer find that data in production.
  • BPAAuditEvents older than 365 days will no longer be accessible, meaning process and object version history beyond approximately 12 months will not be visible within the Blue Prism Enterprise client.

Archived data remains available in your Azure Data Lake for reporting purposes, but direct production queries against historical records beyond the thresholds above will return no results.

By reducing the volume of historical data in the production database, your BPC environment will benefit from improved platform stability, consistent performance, and more reliable operation.

Data maintenance and archiving activities now occur on the following schedules

  • Daily -Background cloning runs transparently with no operational impact.
  • Weekly - Session log partitioning is performed during your scheduled platform reboot.
  • Monthly - Data archiving and index maintenance occur during your elected BPC maintenance window. Active database connections will be temporarily disconnected during this period. Please do not schedule automations or other activities within this window.
