Hello Blue Prism Community, I'd like to share some important changes to our planned product roadmap for Capture and Integrate.api.

SS&C Blue Prism | Capture Roadmap Update: Capture 5.0

We are realigning our Capture roadmap to deliver greater value for customers. As part of this change, the planned Recording Activities on Web Apps initiative (enabling users to record Application Modeller data for Browser applications) has been removed and our next release, arriving in Q4, will be titled Capture5.0 to highlight the significance of the enhancements.

Coming in Capture5.0:

  • Custom PDD Template Upload: Generate Process Definition Documents using your custom Word template.

  • Solution Design Documentation Export: Create Solution Design Documentation directly from Capture.

  • Performance & UI Improvements: 60%+ lower memory consumption during recording, dark mode, and additional UI enhancements.

SS&C Blue Prism | Integrate.api Roadmap Update: Strategic Pivot to Agentic Workflow Automation

Earlier this year, we shared our plans to launch Integrate.api as an Early Access feature, designed to improve how Digital Workers connect to and automate external systems via APIs. That mission – to give our clients access to faster, more reliable automations – remains core to our ongoing strategy.

However, the rapid evolution of AI, especially the rise of Large Language Models and AI Agents, has fundamentally shifted the intelligent automation landscape. Automation is no longer just about connecting systems in deterministic workflows; it is about coordinating intelligent action across humans, digital workers, APIs, and AI – seamlessly and in real time.

Thus, we’ve made the strategic decision to evolve beyond Integrate.api. Rather than releasing the originally scoped Early Access, we are now focusing our efforts on something much more powerful: an end-to-end agentic automation capability that supports our long-term vision of a unified automation, AI, and orchestration platform.

This will include:

  • Advanced API automation tools for robust outbound integration.

  • Intelligent orchestration across human and digital resources.

  • Native support for AI Agents that can reason, act, and adapt within governed workflows.

While this change represents a new direction, it enables far greater value – empowering you to automate not just tasks, but full business outcomes, while maintaining the governance, security, and control you have come to expect from SS&C Blue Prism.

We will share full release notes closer to launch and the roadmap portal will be updated to reflect these changes.

Did someone say Dark Mode for Capture? @david.l.morris, get the flashbangs!

@Michael_S For just a moment, I thought this was Dark Mode being added to Blue Prism Enterprise, haha! 🤣 Dark Mode in Capture is still great though. I like the idea of being able to use a custom Word template. I think that by itself would get lots of people to use it if they weren't before. Thanks for tag! I'll be interested to test it out after those features are added.

Thanks for sharing insight on Roadmap.

On Capture's Clarification > Please confirm if CAPTURE will not be able to record steps performed on Web application?

Hi @Neel1 , Capture will still maintain ability to record steps in Web applications, however the HTML application model information will not be gathered for said actions.

Apologies for any confusion in the messaging!

thanks @rhys.lintern - Current latest version of capture i.e 4.0 also support only UIA + window mode. so basically this will remain same with capture v5 as well.

@Neel1 That's correct yes, Capture 5.0 is focused on documentation and performance enhancements

@adave We'd be delighted to give you a whistle-stop tour of our Automation Studio strategy, which, from day one, supports dark mode. There will be a few iterations needed until we enable full editing capabilities over the next few quarters, but it's a step in the right direction.

@rhys.lintern is leading the charge for Automation Studio, so if you're happy, we can arrange a session.

@omidhosseinitabar Is Automation Studio only in Next Gen or also planned for BPE? My concern is that it may be a very long time before our organization could use Next Gen since several pieces of it are in the cloud. And really it could be that we are never allowed to switch to it. It's unfortunate, but security people are very hesitant to approve orchestration of on-prem virtual desktops from the cloud. Maybe we'll get over that hurdle one day, but soon isn't how I'd describe that. =(

@david.l.morris understandable.

That's why we are working on flexible deployment models for Next Gen, as well as a combination of BPE with Powered By Next Gen services, to unlock more value in the future.

On our roadmap, we endeavour to deliver Blue Prism Next Gen for private cloud consumption in Q4 of next year.

As a subject matter expert, we still value your feedback on it, so we are ready to hear your thoughts if you have availability.
