Hi,

This idea is related to forum to community portal (community.blueprism.com). I didn't find any fitting label so I just took this one.

It would be great if we could change forum posts at later point in time to add more information, consolidate information or just to correct typos.

Currently no such option is available:

Hi @Walter.Koller - thanks so much for this idea.

Currently the community has an "edit timer" which allows you to edit a post up to 60 minutes after it's published - and it's been set this way for 2 reasons:

  1. So that any immediately obvious errors in the post can be corrected by the author, should they wish
  2. To prevent what we call "Necro Edits". This is when someone nefarious makes a perfectly legitimate post in the community but, much later on, edits it to include information which would be against our Community Guidelines. The name is a reference to necromancy! It's a common tactic used by forum spammers who love to trick people into clicking links.

We are investigating a trust system, whereby a community member who has become "trusted" (because they have made many legitimate posts and we've been able to verify that they're a genuine Blue Prism customer) can bypass this timer and other restrictions - but it's not something that is natively available in our community platform and requires some customization.

With that in mind, I've placed your idea "Under Consideration" for now, as it's something we would like to address in the future - but aren't sure whether we can achieve yet. We'll keep you updated as we investigate.

Until then, if you need a post edited, you can contact any member of the community team via Private Message and we'll help you.

Thanks for sharing!

Michael
