Hello! hoping someone can assist me 🙂
After upgrading one RPA machine to 7.3.1 (from 7.2) this situation (screenshots below) is showing up often enough to be an issue. With the upgrade, the Excel VBO is now version 10.4. The machine this process runs on is using Microsoft 365 for apps(unchanged from 7.2). I checked with ChatGPT and it suggested "Get Worksheet As a Collection (Fast)" however I see that action is becoming obsolete. It mentions adding a wait (sleep) before the action itself. What would you suggest and is this happening because the action to open the files is now faster. I already have a "show" action before the open as I saw a note in the VBO mentioning that.
This was captured in the action however when watching it run on the machine I am seeing a clipboard message (next screenshot).

Hi @a026833
Thank you for being a SS&C Blue Prism customer and for using Blue Prism. I am sorry you are having issues with the Excel VBO asset.
You state that the version you have is 10.4. Now, it seems there is a newer version on the Digital Exchange at BluePrism Digital Exchange.
Please ensure this is the same asset that you are referring to. If so, please could you try with this asset, and see if it resolves your problem? If not, please come back to us here and we will dig a little deeper.
regards

Hi @GeoffHirst ,
we are also facing some issues latelly with Excel VBOs on different actions.
If we rerun the process it might then work.
In debug there seem to be no problems.
Blue Prism is the 6.9
The excel VBO is a old one . Might this be the problem?
Thank you

Hi @a026833
we have been seeing this issue as well but its actually appears to stem from a bigger issue in excel. We are having issues with copy & paste actions where the copy action doesnt work, the marching ants (dotted lines) around the copied cells should remain there until the cells are deselected or paste actions are finished but they are immediately being deselected and nothing is copied. This is happening even when done manually but the issue is intermittent and seems to related to the error you are getting when trying to get the worksheet as a collection. You could try switching to get range as a collection as this appears to work more consistently for me but at the moment we have had to open an issue with microsoft as this looks to be an excel issue rather than BP.
Its almost like another application is stealing the clipboard focus when I try to copy cells but im not sure what could be causing it. Its also limited to only a number of machines rather than all our machines so could just be version related.
Hope this helps 🙂
