Automation against Open gi

This is a shout out to anyone automating in the Insurance business.

I'm starting to look at automating against a product called 'open gi'.  I'm just wondering if anyone else has automated against this application before and what to look out for.

I know it is a java based application and i'm currently struggling to just launch the application from within my business object.
