BP Launch

Hi Guys, 

Can someone please help me on my BP Launching.  I am a new user and I cannot launch my BP. I already sent an email to support team and they cannot provide me a solution. I tried re-installing my BP but the same error message keeps on occurring. 

See message error below. Attached  file is also provided.

Hey Vic,

This is a known issue when you have previously installed BluePrism on your computer. This can also happen at times when you install Blue Prism and cancel it toward the end of the installation and later on try installing it again. The solution is to ensure that you completely uninstall Blue Prism and then start afresh. The process to clean up a previously installed instance of BP is provided in the following document...

Hello Vic,

Some questions that may identify the issue:

  1. Which version of the Trial or Learning Edition are you installing and setting up?
    • Tip: The file name will tell us this, simply copy the name of the file and paste it into a response.
    • For example: BluePrismLearning6.7.msi tells us it's version 6.7.
  2. Whilst setting up your Blue Prism Learning Edition, were prompted by User Account Control to allow Microsoft installer to install Microsoft SQL Server LocalDB 2017?
    • Rationale for asking: I'd expect the error you received to appear if you choose No.
    • I get a similar error with Blue Prism Learning Edition 6.7 by simply selecting No within the User Account Control.
    • If you did say No in the User Account Control, then open Blue Prism again, this time selecting Yes to the prompt.

 

Error: The operation was canceled by the user

Error Detail:

System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The operation was canceled by the user

   at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)

   at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start()

   at BluePrism.AutomateAppCore.LocalDatabaseInstaller.Install()

   at BluePrism.AutomateAppCore.LocalDatabaseInstaller.FullInstall(String username, SafeString password)

   at AutomateUI.WelcomeWizard.i(Object imn, DoWorkEventArgs imo)

 

Things that may help you to resolve your issue:

  1. After you have installed Blue Prism, cancel out of the database setup Wizard. This starts with the choice to enter your password.
  2. Manually install Microsoft SQL Server 2017 LocalDB.
    • Tip: We deploy the installer (by default) to: C:\Program Files\Blue Prism Limited\Blue Prism Automate\Installers\SqlLocalDB.msi
  3. Assuming LocalDB installs OK, simply open Blue Prism again to create your password.

Thank you for your reply. Here are my answers to your questions below.

  1. Which version of the Trial or Learning Edition are you installing and setting up?They gave me the trial version 6.6 for 30 days.

Things that may help you to resolve your issue: I will do your advised below and let you know the outcome.

  1. After you have installed Blue Prism, cancel out of the database setup Wizard. This starts with the choice to enter your password.
  2. Manually install Microsoft SQL Server 2017 LocalDB.
    • Tip: We deploy the installer (by default) to: C:\Program Files\Blue Prism Limited\Blue Prism Automate\Installers\SqlLocalDB.msi

My reply on your above statement is that I did not previously installed BP on my computer nor did any cancellation during installation.

(The solution is to ensure that you completely uninstall Blue Prism and then start afresh. The process to clean up a previously installed instance of BP is provided in the following document...)

As I said on my email, I tried to uninstall my BP and re-install again but the same error keeps on occurring. 

Chris gave me some alternative logical solution, and I will try his advice.

Hello Vic,

 

Since I first replied, we have released a new version of Blue Prism Trial.  I can't promise it will resolve your issue, but our next recommendation would be to install Blue Prism Trial v6.7

Tips:

  1. You can simply update to Blue Prism Trial 6.7 by installing Blue Prism over the top of your existing installation.
  2. You can continue to utilise your existing license
  3. If our recommendation helped you get setup, updating will simply lift the version (and database) to the latest version to.

 

So, this should be a simple win-win.
