BPASessionLog Data Archiving Issue

Hi, We are trying to archive data to reduce the size of our database table (specifically BPASessionLog). We have run the automatic archiving for everything over a month old as per the instructions on the knowledge base: Session Logs There are a number of options for managing and deleting Session Log information: ï‚· Using the Archiving feature (recommended) This includes manual, automatic and command line archiving (or permanent deletion) of session logs and can be aligned with the organisation€™s data retention policy. Our database hasn't reduced at all. Our DBA has confirmed that the oldest entry is still from when we began using Blue Prism, so it is still in the database. How can we archive/delete this information permanently? Thanks, Chris

Auto archiving does not kick in immediately, it could be that it hasn't started yet. The idea is you just leave it and the system decides when to run. For an immediate archive try Manual.

Thanks John, we've manually archived data in the meantime while the automatic archiving starts.

Even, I tried to archive it manually but, didn't work. Can someone guide me?

Hello, Our BPASessionLog_NonUnicode Table has a 108GB size. Archiving only reduces this value in 7GB. Is there a reson for this behaviour? We have nothing more to archive, is this normal? Why the Archiving just archives 7GB in a 108GB total? Thank you and best regards.

We have a very similar problem that the session logs (especially the non-unicode one) take up excessive amounts of space and even deleting through the system tab is not of much use.

Good afternoon We have the same problem. Every day the capacity of the database decreases significantly, and because of that we have to increase the capacity of our database every two weeks. Can someone help us? Regards, William Almeida

Hi Exactly, same big problem, and nothing to do Somebody from BluePrism can help us? This non-unicode is growing and growing And another problem, we launch and Archive and 6 hours after and it seems not finish The message is  Errors occured during the deleting process. The archiving continued with as much work as possible, but not all files have been processed. The last error message was: This machine is already performing an archiving process  What can we do?  Something to check in DB, in APP server? Heeelp!!

Hi Maria - I'd recommend contacting the support team. Archiving is best done a 'little and often'. If there is a lot of data for auto-archiving to move, then it can take a long time. The support team will be able to provide a DB script to delete old log data.
