Error While Importing Object

Hi,

1. I exported an object from v6.9 as "ABC.bpobject". When I tried to import in v6.8 the object is not showing. Only XML file extensions are visible. There is no option to show All Files.

2. Again exported object as "ABC.xml" from v6.9. Now its showing during import in v6.8. But when I tried to Import its shown an error like " AMI didn't recognize web close application".

I am not able to understand the error. 

Can some one clear this issue.

Is there any error in the object ? its look like some action issue.

The object is executing fine in my machine in v6.9. I don't find any action issue. Errors showing are "Zero".

It's probably just an action type in a Navigate stage that is supported in 6.9 but not in 6.8. Can you glance around at the Navigate stages in the object and give us a list of those? Also, what app is this object based on? Chrome?

Here is the list of action types utilized in navigate stage in my object.

1. launch 2. activate application 3. maximize 4. global mouse click center 5. attach 6. detach 7. terminate 8. global send keys 9. click 10. set address

There is no action type which was shown in image in my object. I thoroughly checked.

WebCloseApplication is the underlying id/name of the Terminate action in a Navigate stage. It looks like objects just aren't compatible to be imported from 6.9 into 6.8 if they're using certain action types in Navigate stages. For example, I reproduced the same error with these three actions: Terminate (id=WebCloseApplication), Get HTML (id=WebGetHtml), and Hover (id=WebHover).

I'll probably submit this as a bug in case BP isn't aware of it.

For now, I would say your only way for a workaround at the moment would be to do some trial and error. Remove navigate stages as you identify that they won't work for importing into 6.8. And then once in 6.8, switch to the equivalent action.

Hi Dave,

My issue got resolved. Thanks for the Information.

When I removed Terminate action and Detach action, I am able to import my Object from v6.9 to v6.8.

When I used Terminate action - the error is " Web close Application"
When I used Detach action - the error is " Web Detach Application"

I think this should be resolved in releasing of next version of BP. I think its better if we raise a ticket on this issue.
