I am currently working through the Beginners Surface Automation guide. On "Exercise 1.1.2 Search Padding", the guide instructs the user to use the Application Modeller to create a region of an image with the text "OK". The instructions then direct you to use a slightly different image with the same text, "OK". The guide says that due to the search padding created when the region is set, the Highlight of the region should still work, however, it does not for me.
Even after I direct BP to search anywhere on the image for the "OK" box, I always receive the same error,"Error - Highlighting results - Cannot find region identified as an image".
Has anyone else experienced this issue with Application Modeller? Care to help troubleshoot?
Thanks!

My apologies for the late reply and YES, you should start a new thread for your issue as it is a different than what was addressed in this thread. As you are aware, the accuracy rate for these types of OCR readers vary and your solution should account for this in some ways. However, with that being said, please create another thread and tag me in it and i will see if there is anything i can up with to assist in this area. One idea would be to use a different version of tesseract, there was one instance where the older version of tesseract eng.train data worked better than the new version in some cases.

see David's image, once you click spy, then,
1, spy a region,
2, click on 'Select'
3, use mouse select OK area,
4, click OK,
5, back to app modeler, click highlight, OK could be highlighted.

Have you tried the other recommedations from this thread? Denis Dennehy had some good recommedations as well.
If you're still having issue, please provide your screen shots and maybe we can see something else from them.

I am struggling with this exercise as well and the above instructions provided by all participants did not help to fix my problem.
Error: Error - Highlighting results - Cannot find region identified as an image.
Statement: I am able to highlight the Ok button only for the image which I firstly spied, regardless of the Region Position I define.
What I have:
I have font smoothing disabled.
I launched the Image Loader application and attached the Object to it.
On Application Modeler, with Region mode I've spied the whole Exercise 1.1.2a.png image and then selected a region around the Ok button (with its borders - but I also tried to spy the Ok part only and the result is the same).
My Region Position is Anywhere.
When highlighting, the Exercise 1.1.2a.png image works, but when highlighting other images, for example Exercise 1.1.1.png, it does not work.
Region Editor:
Parent Region:
Region 1 (Ok button with its borders):

Hi @david.flores
I am stuck with this exercise too.
Anyone complete this exercise, could you please share object file or bprelease file for this exercise to us to compare what are the differences?

Not sure whether you can fix this.
I just found that after adjust Colour Tolerance in Region Location from 0 to 60 or more, it works.
But if adjust this value too high (e.g. 255), the result will not work. (You can try and see)

That is a great suggestion Surachai.
If this does not work and you are still having issues, please let us know. Unfortunately, I cannot replicate your issues so we have continue to determine other possible solutions. Also, you should bring this issue up in our Learning Community and see if there anyone there that can add any additional insight.
