Recover stage limit attempts

Dear all,

Since our companies latest BP update the recovery stage includes an option for maximum attempts of that recover stage. I had expected this to act like an exception after the maximum nr of attempts had been reached but me and my colleagues are not able to get it to work in a useable fashion.

At this moment if the maximum is reached the recover stage shows us a pop-up with the error when in debug, but this does not bubble onwards to the next level. It also just aborts the process full stop when run on a resource. Are we missing something? It would be extremely useful if a recover stage would bubble onwards after a set nr of attempts instead of building a counter and decision for every recovery.

Your ideas are much appreciated, thank you.

Hi Thomas,

I raised this issue on 10th May 2019 with a support ticket. It is confirmed as a bug (internal number BG-3355) and has not been resolved yet.

I cannot believe this was provided as a feature in ver. 6.5 and still does not function correctly in 6.7.1. You can make use of the feature in objects, though.

Best regards
Til

Hi Til,

Thank you for your reply!
Yes that is remarkable for such a function to just plainly not work for so long. But you say that it does work in objects? Does the exception in that case bubble upwards to the process? What happens if there is a reference to a page in the object and the recovery limit is reached in this page, does this then also work and does it bubble towards the object main page or straight through to the process?

All the best,
Thomas
