Ability to define minimum and maximum values for number fields

We would like to have the ability to define the minimum and maximum values for a Number field. Currently, we write process logic to evaluate the values entered and display an error message when it's not in the permissible limits. It would help us greatly if there's a way to define the limits of a field on the form itself.
